What is PTR and PTS in pharma?

PTR (Price to Retailer) and PTS (Price to Stockist) are standard Indian pharmaceutical trade prices used between company, stockist, chemist and patient. This calculator helps PCD franchise partners estimate those values from MRP.

TermMeaningUsed by
MRPMaximum Retail Price printed on packPatient / consumer ceiling
PTRPrice to RetailerChemist buying from stockist
PTSPrice to StockistStockist buying from company

PTR PTS formula used on this page

PTR incl. GST = MRP ÷ (1 + Retailer Margin ÷ 100) PTS incl. GST = PTR ÷ (1 + Stockist Margin ÷ 100) Ex-GST value = Inclusive value ÷ (1 + GST ÷ 100) Effective scheme rate = Invoice total ÷ (Paid + Free units)
Margins are not always calculated the same way

Some companies quote markup on cost; others quote discount on MRP. Confirm the base used in your written price list.
